The Bebster is Down but not Out!
Hi my fellow Wires! I hope you are all have a wonderful summer. I have been great playing with Casey, until now. I must have eaten something that just won't, well, pass I guess. Mommy was away all week, something about a doctorate, but daddy decided working sucks and stayed home with us dogs. Its was great. We played and played, daddy even brought Eli over some play time. Eli is a big beautiful pitbull that loves Casey and I.So as the week comes to an end I started feeling yucky. Daddy noticed right away, but decided to see if it would fix itself. After a couple of days mommy came home and we went to the vet. I wasn't feeling very well at all. Mommy and Daddy came to visit me after a few hours of an IV, whatever that is. I feel much better, but I have to stay here overnight. Over and out from the Bebster!

Seperation Aniexty
Casey, our sweet boy might have seperation aniexty. We really don't know his history. We have tried crating and he pees and poops in there, we have tried leaving him in our room, he tried chewing through the the dog gate and we tried leaving him in the kitchen. Let me say that we keep Bebe and Casey separated, but we might experiment leaving them together. We really have no options but to leave him. We even brought in a local neighborhood college student to come in twice a day along with their dog walker. He can't seem to make it. We leave him at 8am and our neighbor comes in at 10am to let them out. Our dog walker comes in at 1pm for a nice walk and lastly our neighbor comes back at 3pm. He manages to pee and poop in between visits. We are really at a loss, since we spent his first week on potty training. We can't ease him into being alone without one of us loosing a job. He gets stuffed Kongs, balls stuffed with food, stuff to chew on, but he seems to focus on being alone. He does play with these items. I have decided to buy a wireless webcam to see what he is actually doing.
Wire Fox Terrier, the breed that crosses all religions, races and ages?
Well it has happened again. Last week a car pulls over and an older woman gets out and starts talking about the Wires she grew up with as a child. She was so happy to see Bebe and Casey. And it seems she is not alone. many people stop us and say they had Wires when growing up. Wire Foxes (The Come Back Kid) could probably run for president. Why not? So yesterday we are walking our terrors and a huge pick up comes up slowly; is it a hit? Nope, another person who says oh I grew up with a Wire. So my fellow Wires, I urge you to show your Wire pride. We are making a comeback.

4 Weeks with New Brother!
Sorry to all my furry friends about not blogging. I have been busy playing with my new brother, along with more play comes more sleep.Casey has been doing very well. Although, mommy and daddy had to work on some things, I just got to play.
We have been two peas in a pod. Although 2 weeks in my parents went away without us. At least Melissa stayed at our house with us.

I don't think Casey new what toys were. My daddy would say he was flooded with toys. He isn't as easy on them like I am, but if one gets destroyed the toy fairy brings a new one. He is particularly fond of the the little pink pig. He chews on its tail.

Here is an action shot my daddy took. We play and play.

Casey is very mellow for a Wire Fox Terrier. He sleeps a lot. Most mornings daddy has to coax him out of bed to go outside.
We are very thankful to the A.F.T.R. While there are some within this group that believe that two Wire's can't live together we have proven this wrong. My mommy and daddy gave up on them since we were told by one member that we couldn't rescue one since we had one. Luckily another member that we met at the All Terrier Show contacted us about him.

We really don't know Casey's background. When we brought him home his tail was never up and he was very skiddish of fast movement. It took about two weeks for that tail to go up. Now it is up most of the time and he is less skiddish. He is not too fond of his crate, but tolerates it. He started peeing in his crate so that needed to be addressed. Once we took out his blanket he did not pee anymore. We hired our back up dog walker, thanks Peg, to come twice a day to just let them out. This has been a big help and now are scaling back. Melissa still comes once for a nice big walk or romp in the yard.
The Wire Fox Terrier has been brought out in Casey. It took some time, but really not that much. It goes to show why there are so many dogs available for adoption. It takes a little bit of time and care.

All dog lovers PLEASE help!!!!!
I am copying this post from my friend, Axel, my paws are shaking too much to type anymore (I hope you don't mind buddy). See that photo at left? Believe it or not, that is a wire fox terrier like me! An abused, horribly neglected wire who was one of 97 fox terriers found at a Monreal puppy mill belonging to Marc-Andre Laporte. Laporte was found guilty of two counts of animal cruelty at the St. Jerome courthouse in Montreal this week. Click here to see more photos
Almost 40 foxies had to be euthanized. The surviving dogs were cared for by the SPCA and later, with the help of devoted fox terrier lovers, found wonderful foster homes where they have been living for the past 2 years, unable to be adopted until the case is finalized. Laporte is only facing six months of jail time and up to $4,000 in fines. I find that disgusting - he should be locked in a cage forever or put to sleep - he murdered 40 dogs and abused 57 others!!
But it gets worse friends.
On Feb. 22, 2008 he will be sentenced.
And at the same hearing, the judge is to decide if Laporte is to get any of his fox terriers back!
Yeah, you read that right...get his dogs BACK! Are they insane in Canada? Are they blind? What is wrong with these people!? To even consider removing ONE wire from the safety and care of their loving foster families back to Laporte is OUTRAGEOUS!
WE CANNOT ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN.
So friend, today we are launching a two-fold campaign to prevent Laporte from getting his dog/s back. We know we can count on you to take action and spread the word:
1: Please go to the online petition. Once all the signatures are entered, we will print it out and hand it over to our friend in Montreal who has been instrumental is saving and caring for the Blainville wires, for distribution to the media (unfortunately it is illegal in Canada to hand petitions to the court).
2: Please take a few minutes to write a letter to Judge Jean Sirois imploring him to prevent Laporte from ever taking possession of his former fox terriers or of owning any dog again. If you can, include a photo of yourself and your foxie/dog. All the letters received will be put in a file and also handed to the media.
Letters should be mailed to:
Elizabeth Pierce
119 16th Street
Roxboro, Québec
Canada
Please disseminate this information on your blogs, to your fellow dog owners and friends.
Thank you for your support in this important matter.

Ty, My Uncle Comes To Visit!
Hi everyone! This is Ty, my real uncle. He lives in South Jersey and is now being cared for his mom's son. We got a call from Christine, our breeder, about a boy who needs a home. See his mommy was old and passed away. Her son can't keep him, so my mommy and daddy are thinking about it. He came over last night for a visit. He is a big boy, not fat, but bigger than I am. We got along pretty well, but will need some time to sort things out. He growelled a little at me, but all I want to do is play. I think we can work things out, so he will come over for a sleep over for a whole weekend! I'll keep all my two and four legged buddies posted on the outcome.

The Bebster Takes DC!
Standing alone with all the sites to see. We walked and walked all day. There were a ton of geese to see. I was interested but there were a lot of them so kept my distance. They were bigger than me. I really liked the Korean War Memorial. A lot of people stopped to say hi to me. Wonder if they see my blog.
The whole pack together for a wonderful picture. A really nice lady offered to take a picture of us. She called me spoiled, what ever that is. There were so many people to see I didn't know what to do with my self. We took quite a few breaks, sitting on benches in the shade drinking water.
Here is me and mom on top of the WWII memorial. I think this memorial was my dads favorite. We wanted to go to the White House to visit George, but we ran out of time it was also hot out so we did not want to over do it. I had a lot to talk to him about, but we can try next time. I was really suprised that there were not more dogs. I have to say they were really dog friendly. Lots of signs that said; no food, no bicycles, etc, but none said no dogs.

Window Seat
This is one of my favorite spots in the house. When daddy is hogging the computer, some of us have blogs to work on, I go here. I like to bark at all the people and dogs outside. Sometimes I see a squirrel or a cat too, then I get really crazy. There are other windows I can get to, but for some reason, this is my favorite.

Wow, I got a suprise on Saturday. Melissa my dog walker came over with a bunch of friends for me to play with. Asia is a puppy standard Poodle. Her paws are big and he will be too. I first met him at Mercede's bifday party. Tripper is another Poodle that I've met a few times. He is fully grown and loves to play with me. Mercedes kept us in check, making sure we were playing nicely. Thanks Melissa!Thursday, August 23, 2007

Beach Week 07
Hi all! I haven't posted in a while. This is me and Perry socked out. My family and I spent the week at the beach. I had a lot of fun playing with new dogs and sniffing new scents. It was nice not that my mommy and daddy didn't have to go to work, that means more play time. This Sunday Mercedes, my dog walkers little girl, is having a birthday party for her. I can't wait to meet all the doggies she walks. Sounds like fun.
Weather is supposed to be really good in Philly and the N.E. Get out and romp in the grass my furry friends. Huggs and Kisses!

Manasquan
This past weekend we went to the beach. In Philly and
I'll play with anyone. My daddy is nervous about taking me off leash. Most dogs here run free, but not the Bebster. I think he will soon, I just have to prove that I wont run away. I like coming here because of all the different smells. Also everyone is more relaxed. Perry likes to hide his sweet potato treats around the house and I find them all and try to eat them too. Mommy and daddy take them away, they say they make me poop too much.
This is us on our walk to the inlet. Here you can find a lot of people fishing, kids playing and dogs, well being dogs. My mommy and daddy really like this picture.
My daddy took lots of pictures of this loud motorized thing. He really liked it. He says he did not "work" any of these photos. He says he needs more time for that.We will be coming to the beach again in a few weeks for a whole week. Maybe by then I'll be ready to swim with the big dogs.
