Life has been a ball of something. We are no longer in the Philadelphia region anymore. We decided to pack up and move out West, Colorado to be exact. I'm loving the weather here and my allergies seem to have disappeared. More to come soon.
I got to spend another night in the hospital, this time at the Mathew J Ryan Veterinary Hospital. Again I wasn't drinking, eating and was very lethargic. They took xrays of my tummy but did not find any obstructions. The more we looked the less we found, but our friend suggested that I get tested for Addisons Disease. Daddy took me to our vet a couple of days later and they ran the tests. Hopefully we should know more soon.

Bebehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17530097040261864567noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-867598762855528735.post-23359961693894640522008-09-04T05:37:00.002-05:002008-09-04T05:40:20.074-05:00Temporarily MovedWe have been living downtown Philly for a week now and two to go while the bathroom is being gutted. It took a while to get used to it, well not for me but for Casey. We are hob nobbing with the elite dogs here. Mommy is off all week so its good. When they both work we go to doggie day care at Larisisas (I can't spell her name). We have fun with the other dogs. Hope all my Wired friends are doing well. After a day at the hospital, Bebe was released on strict orders of what to eat for the next few days with medicine. They never said exactly what was wrong, but can only hope that everything is find. Thank you to Mt. Airy Animal Hospital for the wonderful care. Also thank you to our friend, Wire lover, Vet at Upenn for guiding us through these tough few days. Lastly thanks to all my furry friends out there.

I got to run in the yard with Casey tonight, so far so good. I hope you are all have a wonderful summer. I have been great playing with Casey, until now. I must have eaten something that just won't, well, pass I guess. Mommy was away all week, something about a doctorate, but daddy decided working sucks and stayed home with us dogs. Its was great. We played and played, daddy even brought Eli over some play time. Eli is a big beautiful pitbull that loves Casey and I.

So as the week comes to an end I started feeling yucky. Daddy noticed right away, but decided to see if it would fix itself. After a couple of days mommy came home and we went to the vet. I wasn't feeling very well at all. Mommy and Daddy came to visit me after a few hours of an IV, whatever that is. I feel much better, but I have to stay here overnight. Over and out from the Bebster!Bebehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17530097040261864567noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-867598762855528735.post-71452436572730536852008-06-07T08:26:00.003-05:002008-06-07T08:30:22.869-05:00Kong Time!

Well here is one answer to separation anxiety and its not drugs! Daddy went to get Miracles Nature on his way home at Petco and he saw this, on sale too, for $19.95. We really don't know his history. We have tried crating and he pees and poops in there, we have tried leaving him in our room, he tried chewing through the the dog gate and we tried leaving him in the kitchen. Let me say that we keep Bebe and Casey separated, but we might experiment leaving them together. We really have no options but to leave him. We even brought in a local neighborhood college student to come in twice a day along with their dog walker. He can't seem to make it.

We leave him at 8am and our neighbor comes in at 10am to let them out. Our dog walker comes in at 1pm for a nice walk and lastly our neighbor comes back at 3pm. He manages to pee and poop in between visits. We are really at a loss, since we spent his first week on potty training. We can't ease him into being alone without one of us loosing a job. He gets stuffed Kongs, balls stuffed with food, stuff to chew on, but he seems to focus on being alone. He does play with these items. I have decided to buy a wireless webcam to see what he is actually doing.Bebehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17530097040261864567noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-867598762855528735.post-9680563811334862362008-06-02T05:20:00.002-05:002008-06-02T05:26:41.176-05:00Wire Fox Terrier, the breed that crosses all religions, races and ages? Well it has happened again. Last week a car pulls over and an older woman gets out and starts talking about the Wires she grew up with as a child. She was so happy to see Bebe and Casey. And it seems she is not alone. many people stop us and say they had Wires when growing up. Wire Foxes (The Come Back Kid) could probably run for president. Why not?

So yesterday we are walking our terrors and a huge pick up comes up slowly; is it a hit? Nope, another person who says oh I grew up with a Wire. So my fellow Wires, I urge you to show your Wire pride. We are making a comeback.

Bebehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17530097040261864567noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-867598762855528735.post-89238013152792600752008-05-14T05:31:00.003-05:002008-05-14T05:47:27.410-05:00Long Time No Bark!Sorry we haven't post in a while my furry four legged friends and two legged ones (some of you are furry too). We have been really busy playing, well Casey and I. My daddy has been busy working on starting his dog training business and mommy just got into graduate school.

Dad has been going to the PSPCA every Saturday to train dogs there. He says they are very good dogs that just need a home, love and some obedience. He has been working with the same dog for like forever. Specs is a male pit bull terrier/dalmation mix. He can sit, stay, come, leave it, down all in a few weeks. Daddy would like to bring someone home but we don't have the room. So if you know someone looking for a dog that needs minimal training, the PSPCA or your local chapter will have the dog for you.

The picture above is from a seminar dad took at Y2K9s sports and obedience club in Wyndmoor PA. Pat Miller author of, "Positive Perspectives" gave a seminar on shaping. We won't bore you with too much, but dad said it was awesome. He has been shaping us ever since. Shaping means breaking a behavior down into tiny increments, and reinforcing each one until you have reached the desired behavior. One small example, going to crate. So you want your pooch to go into their crate but they are scared. You can lure them in with treats sure this works, but they are not really doing on their own. So to shape him into the crate you will have the crate, the dog, the clicker and the treats. Remember small increments! Your pooch looks in the direction of the crate, click treat!. Walks in the direction of the crate, click treat! Touches the crate, click treat! Remember SMALL steps, so this takes time. Finally the dog walks in, click treat! At this stage I might even jackpot with lots of treats. Shaping lets your dog think about what he is doing and what you want.

Got to go someone is barking.Bebehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17530097040261864567noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-867598762855528735.post-73795003937702384632008-02-24T07:33:00.007-05:002008-02-24T11:42:03.385-05:004 Weeks with New Brother!Sorry to all my furry friends about not blogging. He sleeps a lot. Most mornings daddy has to coax him out of bed to go outside.

We are very thankful to the A.F.T.R. While there are some within this group that believe that two Wire's can't live together we have proven this wrong. My mommy and daddy gave up on them since we were told by one member that we couldn't rescue one since we had one. Luckily another member that we met at the All Terrier Show contacted us about him.

We really don't know Casey's background. When we brought him home his tail was never up and he was very skiddish of fast movement. It took about two weeks for that tail to go up. Now it is up most of the time and he is less skiddish. He is not too fond of his crate, but tolerates it. He started peeing in his crate so that needed to be addressed. Once we took out his blanket he did not pee anymore. We hired our back up dog walker, thanks Peg, to come twice a day to just let them out. This has been a big help and now are scaling back. Melissa still comes once for a nice big walk or romp in the yard.

The Wire Fox Terrier has been brought out in Casey. It took some time, but really not that much. It goes to show why there are so many dogs available for adoption. It takes a little bit of time and care.Bebehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17530097040261864567noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-867598762855528735.post-20407790991073588112008-01-19T19:03:00.000-05:002008-01-19T20:58:00.161-05:00Casey's Forever Home!
What a day. Yes no pics. We heard back from Ty's daddy and he is having a hard time giving him up so he plans on keeping him. I think it will be good for the both of them. We said if they ever need anything to give us a call. Anyone know of any Welsh Terriers that are available. Its what my mommy and daddy wanted, so they think its best to focus on them. They sure are cute. We'd like a sweet boy, 1-5 years old to come join our happy family.

Lastly, yesterday was my 2nd birthday. Daddy bought me some new toys, bones and even got a special dinner. Kibble with Turdunken. Yummmy! I even have left overs.

Take CareBebehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17530097040261864567noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-867598762855528735.post-7774172120250763952007-12-01T06:51:00.000-05:002007-12-01T06:54:55.253-05:00All dog lovers PLEASE help!!!!!I am copying this post from my friend, Axel, my paws are shaking too much to type anymore (I hope you don't mind buddy).

See that photo at left? Believe it or not, that is a wire fox terrier like me! An abused, horribly neglected wire who was one of 97 fox terriers found at a Monreal puppy mill belonging to Marc-Andre Laporte. Laporte was found guilty of two counts of animal cruelty at the St. Jerome courthouse in Montreal this week. Click here to see more photos

Almost 40 foxies had to be euthanized. The surviving dogs were cared for by the SPCA and later, with the help of devoted fox terrier lovers, found wonderful foster homes where they have been living for the past 2 years, unable to be adopted until the case is finalized. Laporte is only facing six months of jail time and up to $4,000 in fines. I find that disgusting - he should be locked in a cage forever or put to sleep - he murdered 40 dogs and abused 57 others!!

But it gets worse friends.
On Feb. 22, 2008 he will be sentenced.
And at the same hearing, the judge is to decide if Laporte is to get any of his fox terriers back!

Yeah, you read that right...get his dogs BACK! Are they insane in Canada? Are they blind? What is wrong with these people!? To even consider removing ONE wire from the safety and care of their loving foster families back to Laporte is OUTRAGEOUS!

WE CANNOT ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN.

So friend, today we are launching a two-fold campaign to prevent Laporte from getting his dog/s back. We know we can count on you to take action and spread the word:

1: Please go to the online petition. Once all the signatures are entered, we will print it out and hand it over to our friend in Montreal who has been instrumental is saving and caring for the Blainville wires, for distribution to the media (unfortunately it is illegal in Canada to hand petitions to the court).

2: Please take a few minutes to write a letter to Judge Jean Sirois imploring him to prevent Laporte from ever taking possession of his former fox terriers or of owning any dog again. If you can, include a photo of yourself and your foxie/dog. All the letters received will be put in a file and also handed to the media.

Letters should be mailed to:
Elizabeth Pierce
119 16th Street
Roxboro, Québec
Canada

Please disseminate this information on your blogs, to your fellow dog owners and friends.
Thank you for your support in this important matter.

A sad AGC and his very angry MomBebehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17530097040261864567noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-867598762855528735.post-55576889822655792182007-11-25T07:45:00.001-05:002007-11-26T06:26:41.675-05:00Ty, My Uncle Comes To Visit! Hi everyone! This is Ty, my real uncle. He lives in South Jersey and is now being cared for his mom's son. We got a call from Christine, our breeder, about a boy who needs a home. See his mommy was old and passed away. Her son can't keep him, so my mommy and daddy are thinking about it. He came over last night for a visit. He is a big boy, not fat, but bigger than I am. We got along pretty well, but will need some time to sort things out. He growelled a little at me, but all I want to do is play. I think we can work things out, so he will come over for a sleep over for a whole weekend! I'll keep all my two and four legged buddies posted on the outcome.

Bebehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17530097040261864567noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-867598762855528735.post-802831995959809872007-11-22T08:23:00.001-05:002007-11-22T08:28:25.888-05:00Happy Turkey Day! I wanted to wish all my four legged and two legged friends a wonderful Thanksgiving. All Terrier Show in Blue Bell, PAOne of the most prestigious Terrier Shows was this week. The Terrier Show held at Montgomery Community College in Blue Bell, PA. Me, mommy and Daddy all went today to see what it is all about. It brought me back to my puppy days as a show dog. At first I heard ramblings about if they should take me or not. They made the right decision by taking me. We met up with Axel and his parents, Finnegan and his parents and tons of other dogs. We spent most of our time by the judging table at ring 15. This is where my fellow Wires were doing their thing. Daddy was busy with his camera while me and mommy watched it all.

<img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; We walked and walked all day. There were a ton of geese to see. I was interested but there were a lot of them so kept my distance. They were bigger than me. I really liked the Korean War Memorial. A really nice lady offered to take a picture of us. She called me spoiled, what ever that is. There were so many people to see I didn't know what to do with my self. I think this memorial was my dads favorite. We wanted to go to the White House to visit George, but we ran out of time it was also hot out so we did not want to over do it. I had a lot to talk to him about, but we can try next time. I was really suprised that there were not more dogs. I have to say they were really dog friendly. Lots of signs that said; no food, no bicycles, etc, but none said no dogs.Bebehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17530097040261864567noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-867598762855528735.post-32485865359104088132007-09-18T05:13:00.000-05:002007-09-18T05:18:33.217-05:00More Family News!!!!!
Barley(Greterre Mersey Beat) is my brother, he contacted me via chat on my blog. When daddy is hogging the computer, some of us have blogs to work on, I go here. I like to bark at all the people and dogs outside. Sometimes I see a squirrel or a cat too, then I get really crazy. I haven't posted in a while. This is me and Perry socked out. My family and I spent the week at the beach. I had a lot of fun playing with new dogs and sniffing new scents. It was nice not that my mommy and daddy didn't have to go to work, that means more play time.

This Sunday Mercedes, my dog walkers little girl, is having a birthday party for her. I can't wait to meet all the doggies she walks. Sounds like fun.

Weather is supposed to be really good in Philly and the N.E. Get out and romp in the grass my furry friends. Huggs and Kisses!Bebehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17530097040261864567noreply@blogger.com3
